LocationMap Tooltip

Feb 28, 2013 at 2:29 PM
Hello,

Is there a way to configure the appearance of the tooltip or pushpin as it appears on the LocationMap web resource? I have tried to add some configuration for displaypanel and tooltip in the EntityAddressFields.xml configuration but can't get anything to work. All that appears are the words "Record location".

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is all it has to configure:
 <tooltip text="Account Pushpin">
    <field name="name"></field>
    <color name="blue"></color>
    <zoomlevel name="10"></zoomlevel>
  </tooltip>
where name attribute is the field you want to show in tooptip.

Atul,

For LocateAddress would you configure this in the entityAddress.xml or the BingMapConfig.xml? I tried adding this configuration to the entityAddress.xml and it doesn't appear to be working for my custom entity when I place LocateAddress on my custom entity form. Here is how I have it configured:

<entity name="new_targetentity">
<city name="new_city"></city>
<postalcode name="new_postalcode"></postalcode>
<latitude name="new_latitude"></latitude>
<longitude name="new_longitude"></longitude>
<tooltip text="Target Pushpin">
   <field name="new_name"></field>
   <color name="blue"></color>
   <zoomlevel name="10"></zoomlevel>
</tooltip>
</entity>

It is not possible for LocateAddress. These fields are anyway available on form, so showing them as tooltip of pushpin seems to be overdose to me.

Is it possible to vary the color of the pushpin based on the "type" of record being displayed? If so, what would the XML format be?

thanks,

On Bing map silverlight control, yes. but not on Entity forms. There's a node named "color" under "tooltip" in xml to specify it.
